Character of the workshop

Meeting of Czech and foreign experts, representatives of state administration, organizations and enterprises involved in matters regarding the transition to digital broadcasting and utilization of the radio frequency spectrum in the future. The workshop is organized jointly by the Czech Telecommunications Office and the company Dada. The workshop provides a platform for experts from the electronic communications sector and the media sphere to meet about the issues at hand. It aims to provide room for discussion and to improve the level of information regarding digitization and new trends in developments connected to utilizing the digital dividend. As the first event on this topic, the workshop is meant to initiate discussion on the given issue and should be followed up by additional events on each concrete issue concerning the process of digitization.

Basic structure of program

The workshop is a two-day event taking place in Prague. The first day of the workshop centers around introducing the issue of the transition to digital broadcasting, the current status of digitization and the prospects for the digitization process in relation to the Technical Plan for Transition.

The second day will provide a platform for introducing and discussing the digital dividend issue. The topics of discussion encompass the issue of availability of the radio frequency spectrum in relation to the completion of the digitization process and the ways that spectrum can be utilized.

Working languages

The basic working languages for the workshop are Czech and English. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided during the whole program.
